How To Speed Up Metabolism: Cinnamon, Nature’s Own Metabolism Booster

There’s been a lot of talk recently about cinnamon and its newly-found metabolism boosting properties.

The result?

Those tested has significantly lower blood glucose levels after eating, demonstrating that the energy released was being burned faster and more efficiently than before. Additionally, test subjects showed lower levels of unhealthy cholesterol and lower levels of insulin too.

All this is very good news when seeking to discover how to speed up metabolism but there’s one more very important bonus for those who want to shift fat from around their belly: When insulin levels are continually high, greater amounts of fat are deposited around your stomach area than when insulin levels are regulated within the normal range. So, if cinnamon can effectively help control and lower levels of insulin, fat cells are metabolised faster and from around your belly.

It’s a win/win situation.

One word of caution though before you rush out and lay in stocks of cinnamon – it must be the correct type of cinnamon to be of any use. Look for true cinnamon spice -  Cinnamomum Zeylanicum – as requently cinnamon products derive from a similar species known as Cinnamomum Cassia. It’s not hard to find from health suppliers but make sure that you are purchasing the true spice and only in quantities that you can use over a period of a few months as the active compound looses its potency over time.

Sprinkle or grate one quarter – one teaspoon of cinnamon on your food, fruit or drinks each day and you will begin to benefit after 3- 6 weeks.
